Irish opera singer and Canadian piano player lifting up spirits during the Covid-19 lockdown in Dublin, Ireland.

Artists around the world are still doing their best to keep entertaining people and make these tough times a little bit easier. Of course, our healthcare workers and other essential workers are the ones we admire the most in these difficult times and we should continue to do so. But it’s still very important to cherish our mental health and enjoy other nice things in life, and music is one of them.

People in one apartment block in Co Dublin, were very lucky to have the privilege to enjoy this beautiful performance by their neighbours Daire Halpin and John Hess who decided to collaborate (keeping a safe distance) from each other and the neighbours.

Daire Halpin is an Irish soprano of considerable talent.

Born and raised in Dublin, Daire comes from a musical family with many family members enjoying careers in the arts as teachers, performers, and designers. Last year she moved back to Dublin, after many years of living in London.

John Hess is the recognized authority on contemporary opera and song in Canada. He has been involved with the creation of new productions for the Canadian Opera Company and has collaborated with virtually every contemporary opera company in Canada.

Enjoy their performance and stay safe!
